Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
— Psalm 100:3

Old Testament Symbolism of Jesus

Seeing Jesus in Unexpected Places is an in-depth study of the tabernacle. Adrian Rogers clearly explains every aspect, including the colors, dimensions, materials, foundation, and furniture. The whole tabernacle points to Jesus and His sacrificial death on the cross for us. It is a beautiful picture of how we can draw close to God and commune with Him.

I knew what the different pieces of furniture represented, but Dr. Rogers brought out details that I had never thought of. For example, the foundation of the tabernacle is made of silver. This represents the blood of Jesus, atonement, and redemption. The wood planks standing up from the foundation represent humanity. The wood is overlaid with gold representing glory and deity. Our humanity is clothed in Jesus’s righteousness.

That is just the beginning of Dr. Rogers’s insight regarding the tabernacle. The book just keeps getting better. As I read each chapter, looking at the tabernacle that was plain on the outside but beautiful on the inside, my eyes filled with tears, and I thanked Jesus for all He has done and is doing for me. This book increased my love for Jesus.

The book also describes the priest’s robe and Jewish festivals, which also point to Jesus, our High Priest. I highly recommend this book. You will be blessed by it.
