My name is Margaret Sorensen, and my company, TABLELAND PRESS, is a one-person company. I do all the work myself (though sometimes my brother, John Padgett, kindly helps me with work on photos and illustrations.).
God has called me to help people share their stories of how God has worked in their lives. The books I publish should bring honor and glory to God and Jesus Christ, our Savior.
I reserve the right to decline to work on or publish any book. If your manuscript is not suitable for my company, I will offer suggestions of other paths to getting your work published.

Editing
Copy editing costs = 3¢ per word
If your book needs more organization and structure editing, we can work out a fair price.
In my editing services, I will:
Go through the manuscript several times
Look for mistakes in grammar, spelling, capitalization, and punctuation
Use The Chicago Manual of Style and The Christian Writer’s Manual of Style
Work with the author and ask for clarification when needed
Try to get the manuscript as perfect as I can
Send to the author a PDF of the edited manuscript for approval

Book Formatting
Book formatting cost = $1000.00
In my book formatting services, I will:
Use Adobe InDesign and Photoshop
Consult with the author about the font style, chapter opening page design, and dimensions of the book
Prepare and insert any photos
Prepare and insert any illustrations
Send to author a PDF of the formatted manuscript for approval

EBook Formatting
Kindle ebook formatting cost = $500
In my eBook formatting services, I will:
Format the eBook using Word
Prepare and insert any photos
Prepare and insert any illustrations
Send to author a PDF of the formatted manuscript for approval
Make the Kindle version using Kindle Create
Upload the file to KDP (Kindle Direct Publishing)
IngramSpark will be paid to convert the book files to eBook format for Nook and Apple Books

Cover Design
Cover design cost = $500
In my cover design, I will:
Work closely with the author on ideas for the cover
Ask author’s opinion on colors and font styles
Write the back cover copy if the author needs me to
Send the author a pdf of the full book cover for approval

Publishing
You can choose to publish your book with TABLELAND PRESS (with a nonexclusive contract), or I can prepare the files for you to publish with your own ISBN. I use IngramSpark (a division of Ingram, a major book distributor in the United States).
If TABLELAND PRESS publishes your book, I will:
Consult with the author about the book’s retail price
Prepare the metadata (all the information identifying the book)
Publish the book as a Print-on-Demand (POD) using IngramSpark
Register the book in the author’s name with the U.S. Copyright Office
