A Heartwarming Movie That Will Inspire You to Be Salt and Light in the World

The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry is one of my favorite movies. It stars Gavin MacLeod, Jansen Panettiere, and Robert Guillaume.

Set in a small town in the summer of 1970, the movie is about three twelve-year-old boys, Dustin and his friends, Mark and Albert. They enjoy spending time with each other, whether it is fishing or hanging out at the local pizza parlor.

Jonathan Sperry sees Dustin mowing a neighbor’s yard and asks Dustin to mow his lawn too. The three boys are being bullied by a boy named Nick, and they go to Mr. Sperry for advice. Jonathan uses object lessons along with Bible verses to teach the boys how to apply God’s word to their lives.

This wonderful movie, set in a simpler time, is both heartwarming and poignant. However, it is not all serious; there are some funny scenes in it too. 

The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry will be a blessing to you and will make an impact on your life. It will inspire you to share your faith with others. One person can make a difference in other people’s lives.

Note: If you cry during emotional scenes (like I do), have plenty of tissues handy when you watch this movie.
